Singapore Merlion

The city of the Merlion, Singapore is one of the famous country among South East Asia’s countries. It is not a very big country in term of geographical measurement and it can be consider as the smallest country in South East Asia countries. However, it is the most modern country and a famous city of shopping in South East Asia.

There are a lot interesting places in Singapore, for example China Town, Sentosa Island, Singapore National Zoo (which is also known as Night Safari at night) and etc. Singapore is very beautiful and modern in South East Asia, plus its transportation, the MRT is very flexible and systematic. Besides that, people like to go there for shopping because it is shopping heaven.

In Singapore, there is a street that called China Town, where hawkers selling varieties of stuffs, such as foods, souvenirs, clothes, watches and etc. Same like the Petalling Street in Kuala Lumper, China Town hawkers start operate around evening time and it is always crowded, either by local resident or tourists.

The allocation area for the hawkers to do business actually was quite large in area and it is very systematic arranged, where the corresponding type of business are grouped at the same sub-area. Sometimes, there will be some performances in China Town too, either on stage on just direct on the street. If go to Singapore for vacation, i think China Town is a place that we must go, because only at there we can really feel their culture.

One of the special thing on Cameron Highland is the steamboat dishes. The steamboat on Cameron Highland are served in an traditional way, where the coal is used to cook. Older generation like to say that cooking in traditional way is more tasty than using electrical application devices, and now i do believe it. A simple steamboat dishes cooked using coal make me feel the soup does tastes nicer.

The steamboat on Cameron Highland got a tall tube in the middle of the pot, allowing the smoke of from the coal to escape to the higher atmosphere for convenient of enjoying steamboat. The steamboat are served at a considerable price and the food are fresh, some of the vegetables served in the steamboat are freshly picked.

Most of the strawberry farms on Cameron Highland allow tourist to experience the joy of picking their own strawberry(ies), but once we picked it, then we must buy it. If one who do not know how and picked the raw strawberry, then they will taste sour strawberry. It was a quite nice experience actually.

Mid Mountain Waterfall - Cameron Highland

Last few months ago I have went for a trip with my coursemates. We have travelled around Malaysia and Singapore, explored a lot nice scenery and tasted a lot of nice food. One of our destination was Cameron Highland that located in Pahang, Malaysia. Since we were driving to Cameron Highland, we can stop at anywhere we want.

Actually there are two paths to go to Cameron Highland, a newly nice condition road and a old curvy road. Since we were going to Cameron Highland from Klang, so we have chosen to go using the old curvy road. The old curvy road was known as a road that always got landslide, which is very dangerous during raining session. However, we discovered the existance of a beautiful waterfall at the the mid-mountain area of Cameron Highland, which only can be discovered if we are using the old curvy road.

The air at there was so fresh and the sound of true nature was surrounding me when I stepped out from my car. The waterfall’s water is very clean and it seems very fascinating seeing the water fall from a layers of hill’s wall. The waterfall area was built as a garden where people can picnic at there. There are also hawker who selling local food and souvenirs around there.

BOH tea farm - Cameron Highland

Besides the strawberry farms, BOH tea farm was the attraction of Cameron Highland as well. There is only one tea farm on Cameron Highland, known as BOH tea centre. BOH tea cooperation is one of the well known red tea manufacturing in Malaysia and it has a very large tea farm on Cameron Highland, occupying hundreds acres of land.

Kuching Festival - Sarawak

Kuching, which people known as the city of cats, located in Sarawak, Malaysia. In Kuching, there is a celebration where we called it “Kuching Festival”. It is merely just a simple celebration to celebrate the existence of Kuching. However, for Kuching citizen, it is a celebration that they will not miss.

Usually Kuching Festival will be held around the middle of July until middle of August, around 20++ days of celebration. Kuching Festival mostly emphasize on the enjoyment of food, no matter is local food or non-local food. The food available are such as fried ice cream, hainan fried rice, lamb chop, tempeyaki and etc. Besides that, there are also exhibitions and performance during Kuching Festival, such as dancing by local dancers or cars exhibitions.

During Kuching Festival, the located festival area will always be crowded by people and traffic jam will be happened. Althought the situation is like that, it cannot stop people from going there to enjoy nice food.

Nadeja Cafe - Malacca

During my graduation’s celebration trip, I have been travelling around Malaysia together with my coursemates. One the our trip’s stop point is Malacca, Malaysia. Malacca is one of the state of Malaysia and it was one of the famous tourism’s places due to its well known history.

However during my trip, I was not only got the chance to explore the famous A’Farmosa but also I have tasted the nicest cake i ever ate in my life. It was a type of cheesecake, but it does not look like cheese cake. The cake was so smooth like it will melt once my tongue touched it. The tastiness of the cake was not because of the ingredients of the cake, but the mixture of ingredients and skills of the cake baker. The cake consists of layers of thin cheesecake layers and fresh cream. The layers of the cheesecake were as thin as cardboard papers. With the combination of the fresh cream, the tastiness of the cake was totally been brought to our tongue. There are different tastes of cheesecake available, but I think the original taste cheesecake still the best.

With a glass of sour drink, such as orange juice, the cake tastes even better.
The shop that sell the cake was known as Nadeja cafe and the cake was listed as Malaysia Most wanted food. The sad thing about this cake is that it is only available in Nadeja cafe in Malacca. Next time, if I ever got a chance to go to Malacca

When people mentioned about Malacca, most people will think of historical story of Malacca. Now, the main most famous historical building that left is the A Formosa fortress and some of the traditional culture that has been left from the past.

A Famosa fortress was built by Portuguese fleet which led by Afonso de Albuquerque, after they have successfully conquered Malacca Sultanate. Afonsobelieved that Malacca would become an important port for trading between countries, especially linking Portugal to the spice trade from China.

But in year 1641, when the Dutch has successfully drove the Portuguese out of Malacca, the A”ortress was occupied by them and it was renovated. Then in early of 19th century, it was again changed hands when Dutch handed it over to British and it was ordered its destruction after that, leaving only the small gate of the fortress.

Now, only that small gate of fortress left was left from the past. As its historical story of legendary A’Famosa fortress, now it leads to the grow of tourism in Malacca.
